Process
How it came together
Step 01
Gate sketches in Procreate
I sometimes sketch gates in Procreate on my iPad as a quick visualisation for clients — fast enough to iterate on proportions and ornament in a meeting, clear enough to brief the workshop afterwards.

Step 02
Wine cellar — hexagonal
A wine cellar built into a hexagonal-shaped space. The angled walls made layout challenging, so I designed blackened steel racks and cabinets that follow the room geometry while keeping bottle access straightforward.

Step 03
Wine cellar — straight wall
A straight-wall wine cellar designed for a customer who wanted to maximize bottle capacity. Blackened steel racks and cabinets were laid out to optimize every linear metre of wall space.

Step 04
Blackened steel drawer unit
A blackened steel chest of drawers built into a top-floor apartment, tucked against a warm oak-slatted wall with a marble top. Waxed steel fronts with recessed pulls, sized to the alcove and detailed to sit quietly in a dark, material-rich interior.

Step 05
50× cathedral glass walls
Fifty glazed walls in cathedral glass — engineered for repeatability so the run could be produced without surprises.
